Josef Herman is a Polish-British contemporary artist who for 11 years was based in Ystradgynlais, South West Powys, Wales. His work contradicted elements of art from around that time, with his use of shapes and minimalist style. ‘In The Miners Arm’s’ was produced during his time in this small mining town of Mid Wales. You can tell he really understood Welsh culture at the time. A gritty depiction of 3 men huddled around a small table in the pub after work.
